About This Tour

Unlike the more accessible Kedarnath alone, the full Panch Kedar circuit involves genuine Himalayan trekking through remote alpine trails to reach Madmaheshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, and Kalpeshwar — making this a pilgrimage for travellers who want both spiritual depth and a real mountain trekking experience.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Haridwar/Dehradun

Arrive and transfer to hotel. Evening at leisure, or a visit to Har Ki Pauri for the Ganga Aarti. Overnight in Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi

Long scenic drive to Guptkashi (approx. 220 km / 8-9 hrs) along the Alaknanda and Mandakini river valleys. Overnight in Guptkashi.

Day 3: Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Drive to Sonprayag/Gaurikund and trek (approx. 16-18 km, by foot, pony, or helicopter where available) to Kedarnath, the first of the Panch Kedar and one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, set at 3,583m. Overnight in Kedarnath.

Day 4: Kedarnath

Morning darshan at the temple. Rest of the day at leisure to acclimatize and take in the surrounding glacial peaks. Overnight in Kedarnath.

Day 5: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Trek back down to Gaurikund and drive to Guptkashi. Overnight in Guptkashi.

Day 6: Guptkashi to Madmaheshwar base

Drive to Ransi/Gaundar village (approx. 60 km / 2.5 hrs), the trailhead for Madmaheshwar. Overnight in Gaundar.

Day 7: Trek to Madmaheshwar

Trek (approx. 17-18 km, moderate-to-strenuous) through forest and meadow trails to Madmaheshwar Temple, the second Panch Kedar, set in a remote high-altitude bowl surrounded by peaks. Overnight in Madmaheshwar/Gaundar.

Day 8: Madmaheshwar back to Guptkashi

Trek back to Gaundar and drive to Guptkashi. Overnight in Guptkashi.

Day 9: Guptkashi to Tungnath base

Drive to Chopta (approx. 40 km / 1.5 hrs), the base for Tungnath. Overnight in Chopta.

Day 10: Trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila

Trek (approx. 4-5 km, moderate) to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world at 3,680m, and the third Panch Kedar. Optionally continue further uphill to Chandrashila peak for panoramic Himalayan views. Return trek to Chopta. Overnight in Chopta.

Day 11: Chopta to Rudranath base

Drive to Sagar village (approx. 45 km / 2 hrs), the trailhead for Rudranath. Overnight in Sagar.

Day 12: Trek to Rudranath and back

Trek (approx. 20 km round trip, strenuous) through dense forest and alpine ridgelines to Rudranath, the fourth Panch Kedar, known for its unique rock-cave shrine. Return to Sagar. Overnight in Sagar.

Day 13: Kalpeshwar and Departure

Morning drive to Kalpeshwar (approx. 60 km / 2 hrs) via Helang, the fifth and only Panch Kedar temple accessible year-round without trekking, housed in a natural cave. After darshan, drive to Rishikesh/Dehradun for onward departure.
